The human of the modern age experiences spiritual fatigue amidst constant rushing and a bombardment of information. The most effective medicine for this fatigue is 'vird'—the discipline of regular dhikr practiced for centuries in Islamic tradition. Dhikr is not just a word spoken by the tongue; it is a state of consciousness that reminds us we are under Allah's supervision at every moment. Regular dhikr has a calming effect on human biology, from brain neurons to heart rhythm. However, to get full efficiency from dhikr, it must be put into a system. Having a vird means ensuring stability on the spiritual path and gathering the scattered state of the ego. A spiritual program is the soul's daily check-up.
The biggest mistake when starting a new spiritual program is taking on very heavy burdens at the beginning. In Islam, the best of deeds are those that are continuous, even if they are few. Therefore, when preparing a vird, it is ideal to determine two main times: morning and evening. Starting your program with 100 Astaghfirullah (purification), 100 Salawat (love), and 100 Kalima-i Tawhid (oneness) is a general method recommended by scholars. Later, specific Esmaül Hüsna recitations can be added according to the person's needs. Using a dhikr counter at this point is not just for counting numbers, but a tool of discipline to gather attention and stay faithful to the set goal. Digital counters support consistency by not letting you forget where you left off.

The noble Companions (Sahaba) used to count their dhikr with their finger joints or date pits. The aim here was not the sanctity of the number, but the protection of focus. Although digital tools make this job easier today, what matters in dhikr is not 'quantity' but 'quality.' During dhikr, it is necessary to think about the meaning of the name at every bead and keep the feeling of 'Allah sees me' alive. Being occupied with worldly idle talk while the counter is in your hand damages the spirit of dhikr. In this guide, you will find the wisdom behind reciting dhikr according to abjad values and which time is more suitable for which recitation. Creating your own spiritual vird is the greatest gift you can give yourself.
Psychological and spiritual research shows that an action requires at least 40 days of uninterrupted repetition to turn into a habit and a character trait (Arba'in). When you stay faithful to your dhikr program (your vird) for 40 days, you will see that the dhikr takes a 'place' in your heart and permanently improves your mood. When you start to feel the absence of a day passed without dhikr, it means that the dhikr has descended from the tongue to the heart. Our application's reminder and tracking systems are there for you to successfully complete this critical 40-day process. A heart revived with dhikr is the harbinger of an eternal spring. Heartfelt peace is only possible by remembering Allah.
